The Clock is a user-friendly, publicly available digital tool which can be accessed at

www.africayouthjobs.io Country-level youth employment data is available for all 54 African states, while sub-national data is currently available for Kenya and Rwanda. Over time access to sub- national data will expand to include Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Senegal, and Ethiopia, countries where the Mastercard Foundation supports country-based programs. The Clock’s data analytical model draws from surveys and datasets made available by national statistics offices and international sources. WDL’s methodology is peer-reviewed, and enables consistent comparable data across countries.

On April 11, 2023, World Data Lab and the World Bank Group held the event “The World Emissions Clock: Fighting Climate Change with Data.”

World Data Lab mobilized its tool, the World Emissions Clock, to explore the importance of accurate, granular data in encouraging transparent and effective policymaking.

The event was hosted by Dr. Indermit Gill (Chief Economist and Vice President of the World Bank Group), with the keynote speech delivered by Dr. Wolfgang Fengler (Co-Founder & incoming CEO of World Data Lab). An inspired panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Andrew Steer (President and CEO of the Bezos Earth Fund) and featured Vilas Dhar, President & Trustee of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, and senior representatives from the Governments of Germany and South Africa.
